Run the seawall

Updated: May 16, 2020

Stanley Park is one of downtown Vancouver's biggest assets. All year around you can run the recently renovated seawall which will give you a ten kilometre, 270 degree panoramic journey around the park.

Starting off at Coal Harbour in the late afternoon near Denman and Georgia Street you will run past the Vancouver Rowing Club. You can take a sneaky shortcut past the Brockton Pavillion or continue along to visit the totem poles. On a clear day from here you can see Mount Baker to the right hand side of your view.

Running past the 'Girl in a Wetsuit' statue and on beneath the Lions Gate Bridge you are bound to see seals in the kelp beds here. Stop to take some photos of the local mountains too! Turning the corner you will pass the epic Siwash Rock and third beach. On summer evenings there is a drumming circle here.

Completing your job in English Bay and you can reward yourself with a sunset snack from the food vendors here. La Catrina has tasty options including vegetarian tacos which are great value. The water is clear at high tide, at low tide you can see birds and crabs on the exposed rocks.
