Vancouver has its share of Italian restaurants. There are small family-run pasta outlets and more expensive finer downtown dining such as CinCin.
Nook has four venues across the city and offers no-nonsense pizzas and fresh pastas. They've chosen to stick to a few perfected sauces and I can recommend one of their heaped salad plates to share alongside a whipped ricotta Crostini for starters. Pizza dough is light and fluffy and the pastas are topped with very generous amounts of cheese. The tiramisu is a delicious crowd pleaser.
The Kitsilano restaurant is their busiest so be sure to book ahead if you have a group, you can't go wrong with Nook. Good quality at a decent price.
