Fresh baked cheese tarts

John

I saw a sign advertising cheese tarts and cheesecake souffle strolling along Robson Street, intrigued by the thought of gooey cheesy goodness I stepped inside.

Castella Cheesecake is a small storefront selling specialised Japanese desserts heavily laden with rich buttermilk. If you are a novice I recommend buying a box of three freshly baked cheese tarts for nine dollars... a single tart will just not do.

Use a spoon to break the glazed golden surface and make sure you get a mouthful of crumbly pastry with the warm molten cheese. The sweet rich flavours are fantastic. I haven't tried the souffles yet. This store is the perfect end to a downtown shopping adventure.
