Diez Vistas- ten view hike at Buntzen Lake

John

Updated: May 17, 2020

The Diez Vistas Trail winds its way around the Bunzten Lake, just north of Coquitlam. The Spanish name 'ten views' reflects the amazing viewpoints you will experience across this fifteen kilometre loop. If you aren't feeling adventurous it is possible to turn around after you get to the most stunning fifth vista lookout. This will save your thighs from fatigue and truncate the hike into a more manageable seven kilometre 'there and back' option.

The trail was built by a Norwegian migrant named Halvor Lunden and there are a lot of other walks for mixed abilities by the lake. You can swim too but I suggest going for a dip after your hike as the water is cold. June is the perfect time to explore this region, why not pair it with the Port Moody ale trail on your way home? You will need a private vehicle to best access the lake.
