City views after work from Dog Mountain trail

John

Updated: May 17, 2020

On a clear day in summer the Dog Mountain trail has fantastic views over Vancouver but less foot traffic than other vantage points and is completely free.

Mount Seymour Provincial Park is roughly fourty minutes from downtown depending on traffic. This moderate hike is only five kilometres in length and can be done in just less than two hours. It will take you through some nice forested areas and the final rocky outcrop lookout is very open and sunny. I suggest going after work in Summer, spring can be too icy and slippery with melting snow. There are great photo opportunities with views to surrounding peaks.

More information on the trail here.
