Carve a pumpkin

John

Updated: May 17, 2020

BC is prime pumpkin growing territory, great for soup and scones! In autumn you can also create a natural piece of art for your doorstep with a only knife and a quick supermarket visit. Start by finding the 'nose' of the pumpkin (where the stalk is) and by opening the top to remove the pulp. You can light a candle inside for a spooky Halloween glow. Don't throw the seeds away as they are roasted into delicious snacks.

Most carved pumpkins last about ten days before they start to smell. Thankfully people in Canada are really respectful and generally wont steal or damage things sitting on the porch.
