Vancouver is chock-a-block with memorable private creative spaces. If you've spent some time in the city, enjoyed my other recommendations and are ready to purchase pieces of art then I suggest taking a look at Pacific Market.
It is located on Broadway (just around the Corner from Granville Street) and recently expanded to two spaces; a ground floor gallery and adjacent first floor open-studio gallery. Be sure to see both!
The art here represents a diverse group of local people producing canvases, watercolours, sculptures, photography and hand-made homewares. I enjoy seeing how the Pacific Northwest environment and culture infuses into the creative elements. There are items to suit every budget and 100% of sales are returned to the artists themselves. If just visiting town you this is a great place for postcards!
Exhibitions rotate every month so if you don't find something you like there will be plenty of opportunities to return.
If you aren't sure about buying or maybe don't have the wall space, here are some other ways you can get involved.
